HOW TO SETUP YOUR OWN SCREENSHOTS FOR CHESS GAMES

Three different ways to achieve this are described below.

This site includes an online board where you can play through from start to create a position. It makes noises for the moves too, different sounds for moving and capturing.

By clicking on the list of moves you can quickly go back to an earlier game position

The position is from Kerr-Aaron Guthrie. White to move. Guthrie played a great game and wiped me off the board within 22 moves. In the position shown I played 16. Rd1?, overlooking his brilliant response. Can you see it?

You can setup positions by playing from the start. I think the pieces are a little ugly looking though.

You can return to an earlier position by clicking on the arrows underneath the moves. It also automatically generates the name of the opening (Bird's) and shows whose move it is on a radio button.

I have sacrificed a pawn for an attack against both Bernard's King and Queen (Kerr-Rigo). I played 24. Qg3 but subsequently mucked up my attack and ended up losing in what turned out to be a fascinating game. I reckon I'm winning in the diagrammed position. Both players were short of time, having 7 minutes each remaining on the clock.

The advantage of this one is you can configure the program to alter the colours of the squares, pieces and even the size of the board. See some illustrative screenshots here

Goldsmith-Kerr. I played the Sicilian against Alan Goldsmith and was foolish to go for an early pawn grab. He has just played 11. Nf5! sacrificing a piece and I am going to be punished for my greed.

All three games were from the InterClub competition in Adelaide, 2006. I didn't lose all my games but you do learn more from analysing your loses.
